Emma Jane Boyd of Kennett Square
Emma Jane Boyd, 84, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard F. Boyd, Jr., who passed away in 2011, and with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Kennett Square, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Emma Nichols Powell. She was a secretary at Newberry’s Department Store in Kennett Square, for over 30 years. Mrs. Boyd was a past president of the Chester County, FOP Lodge No. 11, Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Rick Boyd and his wife Cheryl of Narragansett, R.I. and Ken Boyd and his wife Kathy of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Wilmar Powell of Mendenhall; one sister, Mary Derickson of Chadds Ford; four grandsons and two great-grandchildren. You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 6 to 8 on Sunday evening, August 19, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square.
